After swimming at the pool, how do i keep looking fresh enough to go out?

I am going to the pool today with my bf. We always go out to eat and mess around town afterwards, but i always look gross after swimming. I can't stand to wear anything but waterproof mascera, which after swimming is all washed of reguardless. My hair looks like hell, that's my biggest peeve about swimming. And almost every time, my face is red from sunburn (i do use sunblock, but it washes off i guess). What should i bring to the pool to use after swimming to stay looking decent enough for running around town?
