Can you fill a balloon with colored helium?

for my friend's party we were going to do a skit and at the end of it we were going to pop balloons with confetti or glitter but both are much too messy. Can you fill a balloon with colored gas, preferably helium or something else that would float and how would you do this or would a party store do it for you?
