Has anyone ever experienced the 'pregnancy mask'?

I am just curious if anyone has ever gotten Melasma or the 'pregnancy mask' when pregnant. I am not sure if that it what I have or not because the skin on my face has not changed color but the skin is VERY dry around where the 'mask' would appear. It feels almost like an intense sunburn as far as the tightness and dryness goes, but it does not hurt and the skin coloring is normal. Has anyone ever had this? Is there anything that could be done to aleviate any of the dryness besides lotion and the gobs of aquaphor Ihave been using (which is working slightly but...). Also, I did not have this condition when I was pregnant with my daughter... could this mean that I am having different hormone changes and we could be getting a boy :) LOL! I know that is a loaded question but I thought I'd throw it in. Anyone with info would help though, in all seriousness. Thanks!
