for a nuclear reaction ,the charge and mass conservation holds true.here the charge on deuterium is 1 on tritium its 1,then on helium its 2 and neutron 0,so charge is balanced here.the actual masses of these elements ans isotopes are measured in a.m.u.(atomic mass unit). so when you add up the a.m.u masses of product and reactants separately u'll find a difference in the value and this difference in a.m.u is in the form on energy which may either b released or absorbed. multiply the result by 931MeV u get the answer.
